Introduction
Accurate Low-Flow Metering
The Viscous Fluid Flowmeter Series VFF was introduced in 1986 and has successfully metered viscous fluids such as oils, hydraulic fluids, additives, paints, polymers, chemicals etc. Meter bodies are produced in 316 stainless steel offering good chemical and environmental resistance. For tougher applications titanium, super duplex and Inconel are offered.
Applications for flowrates as low 0.00016 litre/min (0.23 litres/day) have been metered within the off-shore oil industry. The meters exhibit exceptional rangeability with a turndown of 3000:1 achieved for just moderately viscous engine oil.
Meter Flowrange
The rotor size determines the meter flowrange. The smallest standard stock size offers 0 to 0.7 l/min and the largest up to 270 l/min. Higher flowrate meters can be provided to special order.
An extensive range of meter construction offers pressure ratings to 50 bar suitable for most industrial applications and higher pressure rating designs are manufactured up to 4000 bar. In the smaller sizes LF15, MF30, VFF4 and VFF8 the minimum pressure rating is 414 bar. HF20, HF40 and HF66 are 207 bar minimum. The larger V series start at 40 bar
