Charles Wemyss – CEO
The company was founded in 1975 by Charles’s late father, Sandy, and Charles was keen to keep Litre Meter going. He took the reins in 1982 after finishing his degree in Mechanical Engineering at Sheffield University. After buying the company outright in 2001, Charles sold to TASI Group in 2011 and has remained as the company’s Chief Executive Officer ever since.
With 38 years in engineering, design and management, Charles’s knowledge is invaluable; providing in-depth knowledge of flow-metering and flow meter manufacturing reflecting all those years in the business.
He plays a key part in the development and design of our bespoke products working with our engineers to guarantee the best solution.
Living locally with his family, Charles has a passion for Formula One and his own selection of cars including an ancient Land Rover to a more modern Aston Martin.
Hamed Ali – Senior Applications Engineer
Having joined Litre Meter in 2008 as an application engineer, Hamed is one of the longer serving employees with his wealth of knowledge helping customers solve their flow meter issues.
Having been a Senior Applications Engineer since 2010, Hamed is responsible for all of the UK enquiries expanding to all global distributor enquiries over the last five years. His role is to provide technical and commercial support, being the Litre Meter point of contact for all distributor
queries and international customers.
Through the initial RFQ stage right through to after sales technical support, Hamed provides you with the confidence that we know your application throughout.
As a long standing National Trust member, Hamed enjoys visiting historical sites across the UK. He is also Litre Meter’s spice connoisseur with a penchant for hot, spicy food!
Chris Ringer – Senior Applications Engineer
After completing his apprenticeship in mechanical engineering for British Timken, Chris’s career took him to a range of engineering roles before moving from Krohne to Litre Meter in 2011.
Having been with the company for 10 years, Chris has extensive experience in both level and flow includes microwave level, ultrasonic and electromagnetic together with mechanical turbines, gear meters and positive displacement.
Chris’s flow meter focussed career has extended itself not only to Oil and Gas but to a range of industries. Therefore, his knowledge of applications within the Chemical, Automotive and Food sectors supports the growing business of Litre Meter.
Chris is a huge Disney fan and has been taking his family to Orlando for the past 30 years! Chris has a passion about motorcycles and enjoys nothing more than his motorcycle and the open road.
Martin Rowe – Senior Applications Engineer
After completing his Technology studies at Merton Tech College, He then went on to complete his HND in Mechanical Engineering at South Bank Polytechnic.
A vast career spanning across many areas within the flow meters industry; from calibrating reference equipment to design and specialising in technical issues has given Martin the expertise and specialism in finding the right solution to your flow meter issues.
His expansive knowledge in flow meters has paved way for his recent appointment at Litre Meter. Having moved from our sister company Sierra in early 2020, Martin already had a real insight into the loyal customers and products.
Aside from flow meters, Martin enjoys good food with good friends and walking in the country with his two dogs, especially if there’s a pub at the end!
Lorenzo Maramao – Project and Service Engineer
On completing his BSC in Computer Science in 2011 at Coventry University, Lorenzo decided to take a year travelling across the continents. On his return he retrained in Mechanical Engineering and started his career at Litre Meter in 2015.
Initially working in production, Lorenzo learnt about the structure and build of Litre Meter’s range of flowmeters and function whilst undertaking additional studies in Mechanical Engineering.
With his developing knowledge he quickly joined the Projects & Engineering team and now works as the Service Engineer. Having gained an in-depth knowledge on all things Litre Meter, Lorenzo is the go-to person for technical solutions and our internal systems, broadening the projects part of his vital role within the business.
Lorenzo has a passion for surfing and take to the waves whenever the opportunity arises. On land, he can be found walking for miles across the countryside with his two trusty Springer Spaniels, Albie and Phoebe.
